Lately all I have been thinking about is college. I move in to the dorms in less than four months. I’ll miss everyone a lot, but I can’t wait to leave Hollister. There’s not really anything for me here, besides my friends. My parents even plan on moving back to San Jose after my little sister graduates San Benito. Portland on the other hand has a LOT to offer.
In English the other day Dr.Rooth was asking people where they were going to college. People would say their schools and the students would clap. I told my friend ”Say your school! C’mon, tell them Stanislaus!” and she said “No, say yours!”. I feebly replied ”But no one knows my school”. This guy next to me looked at me and said “Be proud of your school!” And you know what, I actually am. I am super proud to be going to Warner Pacific. That school has a LOT to offer me.
I’m going in as a music major because I feel like that’s where I’m being lead right now. Portland is a city rampant with the arts and I love the huge role music plays there. I know Warner definitely takes advantage of the endless opportunities in Portland. I also had a chance to talk with the flute professor and she was so genuinely nice. The music faculty that auditioned me was just so kind as well. It was incredibly nerve wrecking being in front of them, but when they started talking to me I felt better.
Warner also has a Godly environment where the people outreach to the community, which is really cool. I think it’s really important to be involved in the community. And not just to “look good” or anything like that, but because you care. I’ve kind of always had this desire to help others. So I adore the fact that community service is so evident at Warner.
Well that’s my post about my school. I hope you felt, feel, or will feel this way about the college you attend. It’s important to love your school. Until next time GO KNIGHTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
